  • Chobani Yogurt is set to unveil its 950,000-square-foot facility on Dec. 17.

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter will be flanked by Olympians Lauren Cheney (soccer) and Steven Lopez (taekwondo), Paralympian Allison Jones (cycling) and Hamdi Ulukaya, the president of Chobani Yogurt, for Monday's grand opening of Chonbani's Twin Falls factory.

When Otter and Chobani officials announced plans for the production facility in November 2011, up to 400 jobs—construction and full-time positions—were promised. When the factory is at full capacity, company officials say it will produce as many as 4.2 million cases of yogurt per week.

The facility, in southeast Twin Falls, covers approximately 950,000 square feet and is Chobani's second facility in the United States.

A Chobani statement says the yogurt company will also use Monday's event to unveil new products for 2013.
