Boise Police said a suspect initially refused to stop when they pursued his vehicle after failing to signal a turn near North Allumbaugh and West Preece the evening of Dec. 8. Law enforcement said the vehicle accelerated across a parking lot before coming to a quick stop, with the driver running away after smashing a glass pipe to the ground.
Police said they discovered meth residue in the pipe. A K-9, named Turk, also detected the presence of drugs inside the vehicle. Police seized syringes, marijuana and scales from inside the car.
Mark Forsythe, 57, of Boise is charged with marijuana and meth possession, destruction of evidence, driving without privileges and resisting and obstructing.
Police also report that they stopped a vehicle near 34th and Good streets on Dec. 7, after they received a citizen call of a driver speeding and driving the vehicle erratically. When officers approached the vehicle, the suspect drove off at a high rate of speed, blowing through a stop sign and driving in excess of 80 mph in a 30 mph zone.
Ultimately, the driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into the bank of a canal.
Matthew Wilbur, 37, of Boise was charged with DUI, eluding police and driving without privileges.
