Boise Woman Recants Claim of Sex Assault in North End

A Boise woman has recanted her initial claim that she was sexually assaulted on Dec. 5 at her North End home. Law enforcement has forwarded the investigative report to Ada County prosecutors, who will consider a charge of filing a false police report against the woman.

Boise Police announced late Friday afternoon that as detectives investigated the woman's claim that she was pushed into her front door and sexually assaulted near 15th and Lemp streets in the early morning hours of Dec. 5, the victim ultimately told detectives that she had made up the story.

Filing a false police report is a misdemeanor under Idaho Code with fines and penalties set by judges.

Make sure you report this women's name. This tape of weak bull has to stop and it is a slap in face to the women who ARE victims of sexual assault.

This loser needs to suffer the consequences. Waiting until 12:30 pm sounded real fishy in the first place. What a weirdo.

Yes, report her name. She is definitely, as it turns out, NOT a victim, but rather guilty of a crime herself. It would be interesting to hear comments from readers hear who may have professional training in psychiatry to give us some education as to why a person would claim such a thing, only to recant later. Is it coincidence or do we seem to be hearing this type of story with more frequency. Agreed, Teepee Builder that this type of fiasco only hurts the 'true' victims of assault.

No, don't report her name. She's looking for attention, any attention any way she can receive it. Don't give it to her through the media and hate of readers. The only attention she should receive is through mental health professionals. Cause she's on sick woman.

I agree. Don't not publish her name. It was all about getting attention. Mental health evaluation seems to be in order here. But she still needs to answer to her false police report. That report got alot of people loading their guns and feeling real afraid of the neighborhood.

She needs to realize there are consequences for her actions. She need to be publicly shamed. This can't happen to any other guys unlucky enough to encounter her. Its extremely traumatic and terrifying to be falsely accused of rape.

What isn't being told in any of the accounts I have read is that there IS an individual victim in this case. This woman's accusations led police detectives to an innocent man who was put through the horror and indignity of hours of interegation while in custody. Also, as a resident of the neighborhood in which this hoax was perpetrated I have seen the wave of fear that resulted from this woman's lies. I trust the Ada County Prosecuters office will do the right thing in bringing this criminal to justice.
