Snake River Search Continues for Missing Rafter

Friends and relatives are still holding out hope for the rescue of a 54-year-old Seattle man, missing since Nov. 23, when he was slated to embark on a Snake River rafting trip.

KHQ Television is reporting that Alexander Belyanev left the Hells Canyon Dam last Friday, planning to raft down the Snake to Pittsburg Landing, where he he had left his vehicle. The Idaho County Sheriff's Office found Belyanev's car at Pittsburg Landing and searched the river Tuesday until dark.

The search will continue this morning.
