The Idaho State Police are being tight-lipped about the death of an inmate, found in his cell at the Nez Perce County Detention Center early Saturday morning.
This morning's Lewiston Tribune reports that the identity of the inmate was still being withheld Sunday night pending further investigation and notification of all family members.
The inmate was found in his cell after a routine check. First-aid attempts were unsuccessful and the cause of death remains under investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Meanwhile, the Idaho Press-Tribune reports that a 29-year-old male inmate committed suicide late Friday night at the Canyon County Jail. The unidentified inmate was serving a sentence on a domestic battery charge.
