Heads up downtown Boise drivers: A lane of traffic on Main Street will be closed beginning Monday, Nov. 5, according to city officials.
The north lane of Main Street between Capitol Boulevard and Sixth Street will close as crews continue work on a remodel of Boise City Hall. A crane will be in place to aid in structural work on the building, and the lane will be blocked off until the end of the year.
Construction began on the 40-year-old City Hall to bring the building up to code, and extend the life of the structure for another 30 years, according to the city.
In addition, the sidewalk on the north side of Main Street and the entrance on that road will remain closed until near the end of December. Pedestrians will be detoured around the work, and visitors to City Hall will be asked to avoid the Main Street entrance.
