More than 1,000 puppeteers and public broadcasting supporters have signed on for a march on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 3, three days before the election, in the brilliantly titled Million Puppet March.

"Bring your favorite puppet and join us in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 3rd, 2012, for a morning of fun in the largest gathering of puppets to ever March on Washington in support of public broadcasting," organizers exclaimed on the event's Facebook page.

The group originally titled the event the "Million Muppet March" but have since changed the name to include all of muppet kind, according to the Associated Press. The group hopes to recruit a wide array of puppets, including sock and finger puppets, marionettes, mascots and even those wily shadow puppets.

The rally inspiration stemmed from Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney stating that he would end government funding of PBS saying:

"I'm going to stop the subsidy to PBS. I like PBS. I love Big Bird. I actually like you [moderator and PBS employee Jim Lehrer] too. But I'm not going to keep on spending money on things, to borrow money from China to pay for it."
