In June McCall school officials mulled the idea of eliminating its valedictorian and salutatorian honors for its high-school graduates. Then the McCall-Donnelly School District Board of Trustees decided to maintain the status quo, saluting its tops students. But now, the school's eggheads may have the final say.
This morning's McCall Star-News reports that graduation speakers at McCall-Donnelly High School will be chosen by seniors with a grade-point average of 4.0 or higher, under a new proposal considered by the board.
If approved, the changes would take effect with the Class of 2016, which would include this year's freshmen.
