Boise School Attendance Jumps by 135 Compared to 2011

When the Boise School District Board of Trustees meets this evening, members will be briefed on attendance of the new school year.

Boise School Superintendent Don Coberly is expected to tell trustees that as of Sept. 27, there were 25,565 students attending the district's 126 schools, an increase of 135 pupils compared to fall 2011.

Among elementary schools, Pierce Park saw the biggest jump compared to a year ago, with 42 students. Cynthia Mann Elementary saw the biggest drop, with 58 students.

Among secondary schools, Riverglen Junior High School saw the biggest jump compared to a year ago, with 61 students. Fairmont Junior High School saw the biggest drop, with 84 students.

Overall, elementary schools reported 27 more students compared to 2011 while secondary schools reported 108 more students.
