Officials are expecting the Karney Fire to be fully contained by the end of the day Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Forty-five firefighters remain on the scene of the Boise County blaze, checking burned areas for leftover hot spots. Firefighters are also continuing repair work, such as building water bars to slow future movement of water from rain that could result in erosion.
The fire, which started Sept. 17, scorched 440 acres of private land within the boundaries of an Idaho Department of Lands forest protective district.
Nathaniel Bartholomew, an 18-year-old volunteer firefighter, was arrested by Boise County Sheriff's deputies and charged with starting the fire.
