A group of more than 30 Democratic Party delegates and members of the Idaho Democratic Party traveled to Charlotte, N.C., this week to take part in the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
Lewiston Sen. John Rusche, Boise Sen. Elliot Werk, Pocatello Sens. Edgar Malepeai and Diane Bilyeu and Boise Mayor Dave Bieter joined retiring Boise Rep. Brian Cronin on a trip to Charlotte and a schedule of meetings throughout the four-day convention.
Other attendees include Idaho Democratic Party Chairman Larry Grant, Idaho Young Democrats President Morgan Hill and Ada County Democratic Chairwoman Colleen Fellows.
Their schedule of events for today includes attending African American, Hispanic and Native American council meetings before main convention proceedings this evening.
The national rally serves as the platform for President Barack Obama's re-election bid. The Republican Party held their Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., last week.
