Boise Police officers had an interesting weekend, including arrests of a Boise driver accused of hitting a pedestrian, an Eagle man accused of nearly striking a Boise firefighter, and a naked man accused of trying to break into a laundromat.
Law enforcement arrested 27-year-old Daniel Weatherly on felony charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident in connection with an adult female who said she was struck while trying to cross the intersection of Sixth and Grove streets on the morning of Aug. 26.
Boise firefighters said they were attempting to suppress a fire on South Banner Street the evening of Aug. 26, when 51-year-old Russell Doty arrived at the scene, nearly hitting a firefighter with his vehicle, and hopped aboard a trackhoe and began driving toward a pile of burning bark. When Boise Police arrived, they said Doty struck an officer in the chest. Doty is charged with battery on an officer and resisting arrest.
Officer said they discovered 27-year-old Anthony Marsh lying naked, except for his shoes, outside a business on South Shoshone Street early on Aug. 25. A glass door to the business had been broken and Marsh was bleeding. Boise Police said they needed to use a taser to subdue Marsh because he tried to jump through the broken glass. Officers said they suspect Marsh had also broken into a nearby laundromat and caused damage to that business. Marsh faces a felony charge of malicious injury to property and resisting arrest.
