The Gooding County prosector has been selected to replace the previous Twin Falls County magistrate justice who was busted for driving under the influence in Boise.
Nicole Cannon resigned from the bench in June, following her arrest on April 19, when Boise Police said she blew three times the legal blood-alcohol limit. She still faces a jury trial on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
Meanwhile, the Fifth Judicial District Magistrate Commission selected Calvin Campbell to replace Cannon. The 46-year-old Campbell has served as Gooding County prosecutor since 2005. He previously served as Camas County prosecutor and deputy prosecutor for Twin Falls County. He also served as city attorney for Boise, Fairfield, Gooding, Hagerman and Wendell.
