English-Only Hearing Turns Bilingual



Minnesota Democratic Rep. John Conyers turned the tables on this morning's House Judiciary subcommittee to adopt English as the official language of the U.S. by speaking entirely in Spanish.

While the speech made some present uncomfortable, supporters of the bill countered that their inability to understand proved their point, and jokingly suggested that Conyers could repeat his comments in Yiddish, Vietnamese and French.
