An Idaho Legislature task force charged with focusing on provisions of the Affordable Care Act will meet Monday, July 30, at 9 a.m.

The day-long agenda includes a look at Idaho's role in implementing a health insurance exchange and a possible Medicaid expansion. Rupert Republican Sen. Dean Cameron and Nampa Republican Rep. Gary Collins will chair the 14-member committee.

A conference call led by Joy Wilson of the National Conference of State Legislatures will begin the meeting with an analysis of the Supreme Court's decision on the Affordable Care Act, which upheld key provisions of the law in June.

Presentations will also be made by Richard Armstrong, director of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, and Bill Deal, director of the state Department of Insurance.

The second half of the day includes updates on Idaho's High Risk Reinsurance Pool, CAT fund and Medicaid managed care.

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter has also called two health care working groups. The first will meet on Monday, Aug. 6, at the Department of Health and Welfare headquarters in Boise.
