Board members of the Capital City Development Corporation are expected to give their input Monday afternoon on a new strategic plan for Boise's urban renewal agency.

The draft of a new blueprint for CCDC's 2013 fiscal year includes significant changes, including a new focus on development and less bureaucracy, more specific measurements of outcomes, priority-based budgeting and an effort to, according to the plan, "tell our story better."

CCDC's estimated fiscal 2013 budget is proposed to be $21.7 million. Of that total, the agency expects to invest $6.3 million in 2013 developments, representing 61 percent of the spending plan. Additionally, the agency is proposing to scale back funding for consulting services, support of other organizations, and maintenance of public space.

The strategic plan also estimated a 15 percent reduction in staffing costs and a 53 percent reduction in legal expenses.

The CCDC board gavels into session on Monday, July 9, at noon at its Ninth Street headquarters.
