Peruvian Woman Sentenced for Ketchum Marriage Fraud Scheme

A Peruvian woman, living in Ketchum, was sentenced Thursday to one year and a day behind bars for conspiracy to commit marriage fraud.

U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge sentenced 30-year-old Jenny Sedano-Vicapoma for entering into a fraudulent marriage with a U.S. citizen for the sole purpose of obtaining immigration benefits. Immigration officers said Sedano-Vilcapoma also assisted three other Purvian citizens, living in Blaine county, in entering into fraudulent marriages.

Sedano-Vicapoma was the sixth and final defendant sentenced as a result of the investigation into the marriage fraud scheme.
