The College of Idaho announced today that it had received a gift of more than $500,000 from the estate of the late William Carter, grandson of founding C of I President William Judson Boone. Carter, who died in 2011, left his estate to a family scholarship fund, the largest of its kind at the College of Idaho.

The Carter family also established the endowed Carter-Chalker Lectureship on Faith and Contemporary Issues, created last year. The College of Idaho is the state's oldest private liberal arts college.
