New Micron Drive Takes Aim At Ultrabook Market



Micron unveiled its newest product this morning, a solid-state drive that broadens the Boise-based microchip manufacturer's presence in the marketplace of so-called "ultrabooks," low-weight, reduced-sized laptops that promise extended battery life.

A Micron spokesman said the new C400 mSATA drive is designed to work in ultrathin, high-performance systems.

"Efficient memory and storage are key components to portable computing," said Justin Sykes, Micron's general manager of client solid-state drive solutions, pointing to the new drive's high-performance storage in "a tiny, low-power package."
