The Food and Drug Administration and Gerber have announced a recall of powdered infant formula due to what consumers said was a "strange smell."

The recall is limited to batch GPX1684, expiring on March 5, 2013. Gerber said that there was no known danger to health for anyone who may have consumed the product. But according to Medical News Today, there have "been some reports of babies spitting the food up, as well as some minor gastrointestinal signs and symptoms."

Gerber stressed that its recall was limited to Gerber Good Start Gentle powder formula, with the specific batch number and expiration date.
