The Oregonian is reporting that an Idaho hunter killed a collared gray wolf from an Oregon pack, but the hunter's wolf tag was expired. Yet, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game only issued a warning to the hunter, saying the man had received "incorrect information" regarding his license, which had expired in 2011. The killing occurred near a cattle feedlot north of Emmett on Feb. 2.
The wolf was a member of the Imnaha pack, which had migrated from Idaho in 2007 and became what was believed to be North Eastern Oregon's oldest pack.
To date, Idaho hunters have killed 290 wolves in the current season.
