The Associated Press' Rebecca Boone reports that the privately managed Idaho Correctional Center remains the most violent lockup in the Gem State.

Records obtained by the AP show that between September 2007 and September 2008, ICC had 132 inmate-on-inmate assaults, compared to just 42 at the state-run Idaho State Correctional Institution. Additionally, in 2008, ICC had more assaults than all other Idaho prisons combined according to the AP. In 2010, records collected by AP showed 118 inmate-on-inmate assaults at ICC compared to 38 at ISCI (and more than all other Idaho prisons combined).

Under a new contract between Idaho and Corrections Center of America, which manages the ICC, three new monitors have been placed in the private prison for IDOC to have more oversight.
