As more than 30,000 school children head back to class (schools open in Boise, Caldwell, Middleton and Vallivue today), more than 1,000 students will be armed with supplies donated by the Treasure Valley Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army's annual school supply drive (held last Friday and Monday and Tuesday of this week) served more than 900 families, supplying what they could to kids in need.

In today's BW, we examine the high cost of being a student and teacher in the Treasure Valley. We visit with parents and teachers and visit the Salvation Army's annual school supply distribution.
