No August Levy Election for Boise School District

The Boise School District Board of Trustees, in a surprise move tonight, opted not to hold a levy election on August 30 but instead chose to put the issue before voters on March 13, 2012.

Boise school officials had predicted that the 2012-2013 school budget would need a levy of between $12-$15 million. A March 2012 levy election would still allow the board to include any supplemental revenue for next year's spending plan. The amount of the pending levy is expected to be unveiled at the board's September meeting.
