This week's BW examines the burgeoning and complex problem of bullying. The topic will be one of several examined tomorrow at during the annual Idaho Human Rights Education Center's Summer Institute for Idaho Teachers.

The keynote of the four-day conference will be delivered Monday afternoon by Dr. Jack Donnelly, human rights scholar and author of The Concepts of Human Rights and International Human Rights.

Amy Herzfeld, executive director for the Idaho Human Rights Education Center, told Citydesk that a constant through the four years of the conference has been the diversity of teachers coming from across Idaho, including rural, isolated districts.

"We're grateful to the Idaho Humanities Council for investing in such high-quality professional development for our state's teachers," said Herzfeld. "It continues to help bring the world into Idaho classrooms."

The IHC and IHREC co-sponsors the institute, which continues through Thursday at the Boise Hampton Inn & Suites.
