Anti-Nuke Rally at Statehouse

In the wake of the Japanese nuclear disaster, the pending construction of a nuclear enrichment facility in Eastern Idaho and the hopes of Alternate Energy Holdings to build a reactor in Payette County, a small but committed gathering huddled in front of the Idaho Statehouse Tuesday night calling for "no more nuclear subsidies."

The Snake River Alliance held a candlelight vigil Tuesday evening, with a couple dozen attendees sharing stories about friends and family who have been affected by the nuclear industry. The vigil finished with prayers for what the group called "those suffering in Japan and around the world."
