You know Boise City government has taken a turn when one council member tells another, "I know you have a Facebook account. Don't post anything I wouldn't post."
With that TJ Thomson echoed his colleagues well wishes as Lauren McLean was sworn in Tuesday night to become Boise's newest Council Member.
With husband Scott, 11-year-old daughter Madeleine and 7-year-old Aidan looking on, Boise Mayor Dave Bieter administered the oath of office, officially turning over the council seat vacated by Vern Bisterfeldt, who on Monday assumed a position as Ada County Commissioner.
Most people know that McLean served on the city's Planning and Zoning Commission and managed the Foothills Open Space Initiative. But most may not know that she's fluent in French and will run in the Boston Marathon this April.
Appropriately, McLean is this week's BW Citizen.
