With a statewide unemployment rate of 8.9 percent, Thursday's job fair at the Idaho Center in Nampa will take on a special urgency.
The Idaho Dept. of Labor will sponsor "Race for Success," an all-day opportunity to pair employers with what is expected to be thousands of employable Idahoans. More than 85 businesses will be recruiting, including Costco, Idaho Power, JC Penney, Lowe's and T.J. Maxx. The event will also include workshops on resumes and interviewing skills.
Labor dept. officials said job seekers should come prepared as if they are going to an interview, with a ready resume.
The event on Thursday, Sept. 9 will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
