Days after the Greater Boise Auditorium District Board ended funding for the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau, Phil Kushlan, executive director of the Capital City Development Corporation, told Citydesk, "As Yogi Berra said, 'it's not over 'til it's over.'"

It appears that Kushlan knew something that a lot of other people didn't.

As obituaries were concluding the demise of the BCVB, Boise Mayor Dave Bieter was privately organizing a "can't we all get along" summit. Thursday, Bieter called together BCVB Chair George Manning, BBAD Chair Mike Wilson, Boise Chamber President Bill Connors, and Idaho Travel Council Chair John May.

According to a release from Bieter's office, "parties reported the discussion was positive and productive."

"GBAD would like to see the BCVB continue to help in marketing efforts for the city," said Wilson.

"We appreciate the long relationship and the support that GBAD has provided to allow the BCVB to offer its programs that bring in visitors," said Manning.

Both chairmen said they'll report back to their respective boards regarding Thursday's discussion to seek further guidance.
