University of Idaho Grad Nominated to be Top Leatherneck



A Vandal has been nominated to head up the U.S. Marine Corps.

After meeting with President Barack Obama, Gen. James Amos has been asked to become the 35th commandant of the Corps. He would succeed Gen. James Conway, whose four year stint is expected to end later this summer.

Amos graduated from the U of I in 1970 with a degree in finance / business and economics.

Amos' nomination now goes before the Senate Armed Forces Committee. He'll have to be confirmed by the full Senate.
