The reality of "Eating Local" is examined this (Thursday) evening on Idaho Public Television.
On tonight's special edition of Outdoor Idaho, we will learn that traditionally, food items can travel an average of 1,500 miles before arriving in our stores. But this evening, we will also hear about a local food movement that supports more than 50 farmers markets across Idaho.
Here's a preview.
Tonight's broadcast will visit farmers, restaurateurs, a dairy operation, a produce distributor and looks at the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) structure.
