City goes to the birds

2205/1247258799-peregrine.jpgBirds of another feather flock together atop the One Capitol Center in downtown Boise. A small group of Peregrine falcons are calling the 14th floor of the building home, and a large group of more than 60 volunteers are keeping an eye on them. In groups of two to four, the volunteers take turns in five hour shifts spotting the falcons and "following" them if they "seem in any danger." You can spot a volunteer by the Boise Mod Squad T-shirt he or she is sporting and the city asks that citizens do all they can to "protect the birds and help the volunteer spotters."
A live Webcam feed has been set up to watch the fledgling Peregrines grow.
