Calling the Boise Art Museum a gallery is technically a misnomer, but the people have spoken, and we agree. BAM's cultural contributions to not only our community, but also to Idaho as a whole, are immeasurable.
We're especially thrilled with the exhibitions thus far this year, including the Chuck Close show and, the most recent installation, the 2007 Idaho Triennial. Assistant curator Amy Pence-Brown traversed the Gem State, visiting 71 artists in their creative environments. Her travels culminated in a show that includes 25 artists and 75 pieces of work. It's a tribute to the artistic talent that abounds in Idaho and to BAM's ability to bring it all together in one place.
