In November 2015, parents in the Lincoln County town of Dietrich were notified of an alleged sexual assault on a student at Dietrich High School. The letter to parents confirmed three Dietrich High School football players had been accused of raping a student with a foreign object after a football practice on Oct. 15, 2015.

Now, the Twin Falls Times-News reports the Idaho attorney general has filed charges against the three teens.

According to the Times-News, court documents indicate a coat hanger had been used in the alleged assault. One of the three teens is scheduled to be arraigned in Lincoln County Court on Friday, March 18, but the files on the alleged perpetrators have been sealed.

Meanwhile, the Dietrich school superintendent said it was unclear if any coaches had been present during the alleged assault, according to the Times-News.

“There’s an expectation that coaches will supervise students in locker rooms,” Superintendent Ben Hardcastle told the Times-News. “But deciding what type of supervision is needed is tricky. Coaches typically come and go, but don’t stand guard while students are showering and changing.”
